Our First Essay!

Whew! We did it. The whole process of writing this first essay was so nerve wrecking for me. Since it was the first essay, and being new to Prof. Aronson, I wasn't quite sure of what his expectations were. I'm sure everyone who is new to Prof. Aronson can relate to the nervousness. I learned a lot from this essay. I learned that ALL Adele songs are really deep, and that she uses so many different rhetoric techniques, like smiles, metaphors, and analogy's. I also learned from this essay that rhetoric is everywhere in our lives! Just look around, you'll find it :)

To my grandmother

This poem is dedicated to my grandmother, who always believed in my baking capabilities, and taught me most of the things I know about baking. RIP grandma.

Chocolate chip cookies,
                                         "soft and moist"
Red Velvet cake,
"Decadent and delicious"
Peanut Butter and Chocolate cupcakes,
"So sweet and creamy"
Lemon bars with powdered sugar,
"So tart"

Grandma, you were and forever will be my inspiration for baking. I love you.

Missing class

Sooo...I wasn't able to come to class on last Monday because I was sick. No bueno :( When I came back on Wednesday, I feel like I missed SO much! I was pretty confused, but with a little help from a couple of my classmates, I was caught up :). Even in the little time we have been in this class, I have people that I can ask tons of questions about what's going on, and I like that! The environment and attitude of this class is amazing, and  I hope that I will be able to work with more of the class soon.

Working in Groups

When I first found out that we couldn't pick our own groups, I got pretty nervous. I had only really talked to a few people next to me. When we got separated into groups, and had to do that balloon challenge, that lightened things up a bit. After the challenge, I sat there with my group, just making small talk. It was nice to be talking to other people in the class, not just the people next to me. As my group talked, we joked around about who was the baby of the group. At first I was really nervous about the groups, but now I see I can joke around and do work with these people. And I'm looking forward to working with them again soon :)
